John started his career in the world of shipping, joining Canadian Pacific in 1984 moving to Cunard Ellerman in 1986 in a Central Finance role.

He joined Gallagher Plumer in 1988 as a Management Accountant and then, upon its formation in 1989, on to Graham Bell and Company, as assistant to the Finance Director. In 1994 Graham Bell was bought by Lloyd Thompson following which, in 1995 John joined Hayward Aviation as Accountant, taking on the additional role of Company Secretary in 1998.

John was appointed Finance Director of Hayward Aviation in January 2009.
